Aisling Bea

Aisling was born on 16 March 1984, on the island of Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's best-known and well-known comedians. She has been featured on QI together alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, also than the stage name Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984), is an Irish actor, writer and stand-up comic. Bea started her professional career in stand-up comedy in 2011 after playing small roles that she acted on Irish and British television dramas from 2009. Following 2012, she was being featured in sketch comedy programs, sitcoms, and other similar shows. In 2012, she began appearing on panel shows after winning an award at The Edinburgh Comedy Awards. From 2016 to 2017 she served as the team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats and is a frequent contestant in the show's sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents were Brian O'Sullivan as well as Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is her younger sister. She is only the second ever female to be a winner of the show So You Think You're Funny. Bea was presented with the award in memory of her father. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born April 16, 1984 in Kildare Town, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet who killed himself at the age of three. Bea didn't learn how her father passed away until she turned thirteen. Her stage name Bea is a tribute to her father. Bea wrote an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017, about her experience with suicide. Bea was fostered by her younger sister Sinead and her mother Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary instructor, trainer of jockeys, and former professional racer. Her family were fascinated by horses and race meetings. As a young girl, Bea employed as an instructor in the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she was not interested in the racing industry as a career and instead loved performing.
